3 Questions to Answer Before
You Look for a New Job

Whether you're out of work or contemplating a change, rethinking what you want to do with your life can be a valuable experience. It's never too late to wonder, "What do I want to be when I grow up?" Here are three questions to ask yourself to help you define what's next:
  1. What are my talents? Some talents are evident when you're young; others emerge over time. Know what it is that you are inherently good at.
  2. What skills do I have? Skills are different from talents in that you have acquired them through learning and practice. Take stock of the skills you've developed over the years.
  3. What gets me out of bed? Figure out what motivates you to achieve. Whenever possible, you should find a way to do what you really like to do.
